The Real Good Recipe Book

Bloemfontein – OFM, inspiring listeners to live the real good life in Central South Africa, called on listeners to send in their favourite recipes, showcasing the incredible produce available in our region, for The Real Good Recipe Book. After much deliberation, the winner of the grand prize of a R30 000 Checkers voucher was chosen on 19 December 2020… and the lucky winner is Willem Kruger of Bloemfontein, with his Pork Rosti recipe!

As Willem said in his entry: “I went to England with my girlfriend (now wife) on a working visa. We worked at a pub and that is where I fell in love with cooking. One day I had an opportunity to add a dish to the specials menu, and it was a winner. I’ve been making this dish for my family for years and it brings back great memories every time I make it.”

According to Lindiwe Mtwentula, OFM Marketing Manager: “The Real Good Recipe Book, which also features OFM presenters’ favourite dishes, will be available in both hard copy and in eBook form from January 2021. The recipe book features six categories – beef and lamb; pork and poultry; venison; fruits, nuts and vegetables; dairy and eggs; and maize and wheat – all grown, produced or cultivated in Central South Africa. There’s a special bonus – videos of OFM presenters preparing their favourite dish in a specific category can be accessed by using the QR codes, available in the recipe book.”

Apart from the R30 000 voucher won by Willem Kruger, several entrants won R500 Checkers vouchers. Entrants with a Checkers Xtra Savings card had their vouchers doubled.
