Central Media Group supports Free State Arts
The central region has over many decades been an important hub for the development of the performing arts. Many of South Africa’s greatest thespians have been proud to call the Free State home and have moved through the hallowed halls of the renowned Performing Arts Center of the Free State (Pacofs) in Bloemfontein, considered one of the best theatre facilities in the country.
Such a proud institution, however, needs continued support from the community and the business fraternity to continue to deliver the important service of the development of those in the creative industry and the upliftment of communities through art and culture.
To this end, the Central Media Group has concluded an agreement with Pacofs to join forces and support the development of the performing arts in the Free State.
This will see OFM as the exclusive radio partner and Bloemfontein Courant as the exclusive print partner to Pacofs.
“Pacofs is an institution for the development of arts in the Free State. With new leadership comes new ideas and collaboration. The Central Media Group has considerable reach into OFM’s radio audiences and Bloemfontein Courant’s readers. This partnership is important to share the journey of so many artists,” says Nick Efstathiou, CEO of Central Media Group.
The announcement also follows the recent appointment of Themba Dlamini as Pacofs CEO in November 2022. Considered an experienced leader, Dlamini has held numerous positions as CEO and chairperson of boards across various public entities.
“We are grateful for this partnership that helps build PACOFS to become a regional and global arts roleplayer again. CMG provides us an opportunity to communicate our artistic programmes and institutional news with valuable theatre lovers, artists, and other stakeholders,” says Dlamini.
Central Media Group ondersteun Vrystaat Kunste
Die sentrale streek is reeds vir baie dekades ‘n belangrike spilpunt vir die ontwikkeling van die uitvoerende kunste. Baie van Suid-Afrika se grootste dramaturge is trots om die Vrystaat hul tuiste te noem en is goed vertroud met die bekende Performing Arts Centre of the Free State (Pacofs) in Bloemfontein, wat ook as een van die beste teaterfasiliteite in die land beskou word.
So ‘n trotse instelling het egter volgehoue ondersteuning nodig, nie net van die gemeenskap nie, maar ook van die sakesektor om voort te gaan om die belangrike diens te lewer wat die ontwikkeling van die kreatiewe bedryf en die opheffing van gemeenskappe deur kuns en kultuur behels.
Vir hierdie doel het Central Media Group ‘n ooreenkoms met Pacofs gesluit om kragte saam te snoer om die ontwikkeling van die uitvoerende kunste in die Vrystaat te ondersteun.
Die ooreenkoms beskou OFM as die eksklusiewe radiovennoot en Bloemfontein Courant as die eksklusiewe drukvennoot vir Pacofs.
“Pacofs is ‘n instelling vir die ontwikkeling van kunste in die Vrystaat. Met nuwe leierskap kom nuwe idees en samewerking. Die Central Media Group het aansienlike reikkrag deur OFM se luisteraars en Bloemfontein Courant se lesers. Hierdie vennootskap is belangrik om die reis van soveel kunstenaars te deel,” sê Nick Efstathiou, uitvoerende hoof van Central Media Group.
Die aankondiging volg ook op die onlangse aanstelling van Themba Dlamini as Pacofs se uitvoerende hoof in November 2022. Dlamini word as ‘n ervare leier beskou en het talle poste as uitvoerende hoof en voorsitter van direksies oor verskeie openbare entiteite beklee.
“Ons is dankbaar vir hierdie vennootskap wat help om Pacofs te bou om weer ‘n streeks- en globale kunsrolspeler te word. CMG bied ons die geleentheid om ons artistieke programme en institusionele nuus met waardevolle teaterliefhebbers, kunstenaars en ander belanghebbendes te deel,” sê Dlamini.
